Mission of the Wolfpack

It is our mission to connect Veteran and Active Duty Marines, Navy Corpsmen, and Goldstar Family members from the 3rd Light Armored Infantry (LAI) and Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalion(s) - THE WOLFPACK - to promote brotherhood and continued camaraderie, assist with transition, and ultimately reduce the impacts of PTSD, feelings of isolation, and probability of suicide by facilitating a nationwide communication network, reunions, gatherings, and localized events that provide a means to
"Strengthen the Pack".

These enabling objectives support our mission:

1. Communication

Providing a central means of communication for The Wolfpack Association and our Alumni.

2. Coordination

Provide coordination necessary for our Biennial Gathering of the Pack, and periodic nationwide and localized events to bring Alumni together.

3. Information

Disseminate information relevant to The Wolfpack Association, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, and Marine Corps Activities to Wolfpack Alumni though Social Media and other means.

4. Awards

To present awards for outstanding acts and achievement by Wolfpack Alumni and Marines of 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion relative to Marine Corps and Battalion Objectives, Community Impact, and Community Outreach.

5. Scholarship

Provide support for Continuing Education through Education Grants for Marines, Alumni, and their Dependents.

6. Aid and Assistance Coordination

To assist Alumni in finding and coordinating available support and services as necessary during times of hardship.

The 37th Commandant Reinforced our Mission

General Robert B. Neller
37th Commandant of the Marine Corps

General Neller is one of many former Wolfpack Commanding Officers to become a Flag Officer; the first to earn four stars and first to become the Commandant.

As Battalion Commander, he took elements of the Wolfpack to Somalia in support of Operation Restore Hope.

In 2017, he provided a video to remind us why we do what we do and encouraged us to continue doing great things - long after we depart from Active Duty.

View the Commandant’s video and hear his words.

Semper Fidelis.
